May Day Marked across Country

Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- The Korean people on Friday significantly marked May Day. Working people in Pyongyang spent a pleasant time, enjoying sports and amusement games, folk games and art performances. Workers of the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill, Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, Kangdong Area Coal-mining Complex and Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex demonstrated their united strength through football, basketball, volleyball and tug of war events. Pleasure parks on Moran Hill and Rungna Islet and other places were crowded with people having sports and amusement games and dancing and watching art performances. Revolutionary drama "A Letter from a Daughter" was given at the National Theatre. An art performance was given by artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe at the Arch of Triumph Square. Artistes of the National Folk Art Troupe and the National Circus gave performances in the Taesongsan Pleasure Park and Mangyongdae Amusement Park. People, men and women, young and old, danced to the tune of folk songs while school youth and children enjoyed boating on the Rivers Taedong and Pothong in Pyongyang. University students in Pyongyang had sports matches at the Sosan Football Stadium. Working people across the country also significantly enjoyed the holiday. |
