S. Korean Inhabitants Protest against U.S. War Drills

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- Villagers near a firing range of the U.S. forces in Phochon, Kyonggi Province held a rally in Seoul on April 29 in protest against the indiscriminative war drills staged by the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces threatening the life and security of the south Korean people, according to MBC of south Korea.

Speakers deplored that shells fired by the U.S. forces at the Yongphyong firing range dropped on villages at irregular intervals, throwing inhabitants into uneasiness and horror.

Forest fire occurred on a hill around the firing range due to a shell fired by U.S. forces on March 14.

A shell fired at the firing range dropped on Sohoesan-ri, Yongbuk-myon, Phochon City on April 22 and a shell went through the ceiling of a house in a village in Yami-ri, Yongbuk-myon on April 28.
