This soup won a high appraisal at the provincial cooking festival held on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (April 15) this year.

From olden times, Koreans have cooked soup and dishes with various species of edible herbs which are good for health. The herbs include Ligularia fischeri, Aster scaber, aralia shoots and broad bellflower.

The soup gives good effect on liver, kidney and circulation of blood.

In the DPRK traditional dishes and local special dishes are encouraged to improve the people's diet and health.
