Among those present there were Kim Hyong Hun, chairman of the Central Committee of the Medical Association of Korea, officials, scientists and teachers in the field of public health, members of a delegation of the Korean Medical Association in Japan headed by Vice-Chairman Kang Kyong Bu and a delegation of Korean medical workers in the U.S. headed by Pak Ki Bom and other overseas Koreans.

Kim Hyong Hun made an opening speech to be followed by congratulatory speeches.

The participants heard a lecture titled "On policy of protecting children's health in the DPRK, the best one in the world".

The symposium heard various papers.

Speakers introduced latest research achievements and experience conducive to meeting requirements of the new century and scientifically clarified urgent theoretical and practical issues arising in the development of national medical science and healthcare.
