The message said that the Soviet army and people displayed matchless self-sacrificing spirit and popular heroism in the Patriotic War for justice against the Hitler fascist clique and thus finally defeated fascism and performed historic feats in defending global peace and security.

It said that the feats performed by the Soviet army and people will shine forever in history.

It wished the prime minister of Russia greater successes in his responsible work, expressing belief that the DPRK-Russia relations with long-standing tradition would grow stronger.

Meanwhile, DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong sent a similar message to his Russian counterpart Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov on the same day.
