Present there were O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned, officials, architects, technicians, teachers, researchers and creators in the fields of designing, construction, building materials and supervision, fine art studios and scientific research and educational institutions,

Speeches were made by Kwon Song Ho, minister of State Construction Control, Sim Yong Hak, chairman of the Central Committee of the Architects Union of Korea, Jong Hui Chol, vice-director of the State Designing Guidance Bureau, and others.

They explained that Marshal Kim Jong Un unrolled a far-reaching plan to create a new construction history of Songun Korea by successfully carrying forward and developing the construction guidance exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and energetically led the construction field to provide a firm foundation for building a socialist economic power and take the lead in ushering in a new era of cultural efflorescence in the 21st century.

They noted that the desire, requirements and convenience of the people were put above all in building monumental structures and the ideological value and artistry and practicality were provided to suit the sentiment and sense of beauty of the people.

They underscored the need to build industrial and educational and cultural facilities and apartment houses as monumental structures in the era of the Workers' Party by strictly adhering to the principle of convenience, architectural beauty and the outlook on the younger generation first in all aspects of the construction.

They called for bringing about a great leap forward and innovations in every construction site alive with a high-pitched drive for creating a new Pyongyang spirit and Pyongyang speed and thus brilliantly adorn the venue of the great October festival.
