Leader Kim Jong Il personally organized the shock brigade 40 years ago, instilling wisdom and encouragement into it and training it as a powerful combat unit making a breakthrough in construction through a speed campaign.

The shock brigade has fully demonstrated the might of regular militant labor unit in very construction site, covering a proud path.

Members and officials of the shock brigade performed heroic feats at construction sites for monumental structures and northern railways to glorify the revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea. They performed labor feats at all construction sites such as the International Friendship Exhibition House, the Grand People's Study House, Kwangbok Street, Thongil Street, the Youth Hero Motorway and Mansudae Street.

The shock brigade was awarded Order of Kim Il Sung and Order of National Flag First Class and it produced many labor heroes, Kim Il Sung Youth Honor Prize winners and recipients of other state commendations, young innovators and innovators. In this course it has turned into a revolutionary university for training reliable young core elements of the Party.

There took place a meeting at the People's Palace of Culture Friday.

A congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the members and officials of the shock brigade was read out at the meeting.
