On May 12 the Japanese authorities hurled police into an operation to walk off three officials of Chongryon and search their houses, a deliberate and premeditated suppression aimed to disorganize Chongryon, the statement charged.

The U.S. is instigating Japan to crack down on Chongryon, it said, and went on:

The Japanese authorities are persistently working hard to suppress and destabilize Chongryon in return for the U.S. support for its revival of militarism. By doing so, they are pushing the DPRK-Japan relations to the lowest ebb. The recent action proves that Japan is faithfully following the intention of the U.S. to create the structure of confrontation between the DPRK and Japan.

The Koreans in the U.S. join all other Koreans at home and overseas in vehemently denouncing the Japanese authorities for their human rights abuses and national discrimination.
