The statement branded the Japanese reactionaries' fascist action as a wanton infringement upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, politically-motivated persecution of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and hideous human rights abuses and a blatant challenge to the Korean nation demanding Japan's settlement of the past.

It went on:

The Japanese authorities have legal and moral responsibility and obligation to guarantee the Koreans in Japan human rights and their living and protect them and ensure the just activities of Chongryon, the organization representing them. This is, at the same time, an elementary requirement of international law.

Nevertheless, the Japanese reactionaries arrested officials of Chongryon, not content with suppressing Chongryon and Koreans in Japan on an absurd pretext. This is absolutely intolerable as it is adding to the crimes they committed in the past.

The Japanese government should release the unreasonably arrested officials of Chongryon at once, clearly understanding that its campaign against the DPRK and Chongryon will get it nowhere. It should stop the political plot and reckless suppression of Chongryon.

The Korean nation will force Japan to pay very dearly for the crimes it has committed against it for centuries and seek the latter's apology and reparation at any cost.
