Present there were officials, teachers and researchers of Kim Il Sung University and representatives of different universities of Russia including Moscow Lomonosov State University, and the Russian ambassador to the DPRK and his embassy officials.

Speakers said intensifying education in the Korean and Russian languages and the study of them is of weighty significance in achieving common progress.

They expressed the belief that the symposium would help the education institutions of the two countries exchange valuable achievements in scientific research and make positive contributions to developing the bilateral friendly relations.

The symposium was held, divided into several panels on the theme of "Education in Korean and Russian languages at Kim Il Sung University and universities of the Russian Federation." Dozens of valuable academic papers were presented there.
