The Japanese reactionaries have gone to extremes in its moves against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), a dignified overseas Koreans' organization of the DPRK.

Policemen stormed the houses of officials of Chongryon, handcuffed and walked off them in the wake of their repressive action in March last. This was unpardonable unethical action.

Lurking behind the action was a sinister aim of the Japanese authorities to label Chongryon "an illegal and criminal organization" and create an undesirable atmosphere in the Japanese society at a time when atmosphere of all compatriots to greet the 60th anniversary of Chongryon was running high.

The federation vehemently censures the remarks made by a spokesperson for the prime minister's residence who claimed that this action was taken on a legal ground.

The statement stressed that they would rise up in a dynamic struggle against the fascist action of the Japanese reactionaries.
