It is of urgent necessity to increase production in order to significantly improve people's diet with agricultural production, animal husbandry and fishing as the main thrusts and provide people and children with greater quantities of quality consumer goods, school things and foodstuff and give further momentum to the drive for creating the Korean speed in the construction field, the editorial says, and goes on:

The drive for increased production means a manifestation of intense loyalty of the Korean people ready to wholeheartedly respond to the party's call and an expression of strong national self-respect and resolution to outpace the world with their own strength, technology and natural resources.

There are for the Korean people the strong economic foundation laid by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il with so much effort and the proud tradition of the drive for increased production through which they glorified the annals of the revolution with epoch-making changes.

In the hard time of postwar rehabilitation and construction the patriotic workers of Korea turned out 120,000 ton of steel from the blooming mill with the rated capacity of 60,000 ton and produced 270,000 ton of pig iron by the iron-making equipment with the rated capacity of 190 000 ton, giving strong impetus to the building of rich and powerful country.

There are neither difficulties insurmountable nor fortress unconquerable for us when such ardent patriotic loyalty and revolutionary enthusiasm are displayed.
