Speakers said the violence committed by the outrageous regime and the military 35 years ago is being repeated even now by the present regime and bureaucrats in a craftier and fiercer manner.

The May 18 movement for democracy was a just resistance citizens of Kwangju and other people in South Jolla Province staged by dedicating themselves to freedom, democracy, justice and human rights against violence, dictatorship and oppression, aspiring after social democracy, they noted.

They called on the progressive forces to get united and stage a June resistance for social democracy by carrying forward the spirit of the popular uprising.
