Child Health Day Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- An event took place at Kyongsang Kindergarten here Thursday to mark the Child Health Day. Present at the event were Kim Hyong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health who is chairman of the Korean Association for Supporting the Children, members of the association, officials concerned, Nazira Artikova, acting representative of the WHO in the DPRK, and staff members of other international organizations and foreign embassies here. A speech was followed by a public presentation of achievements and experience gained in the child health of the DPRK. Speakers said that a well regulated child healthcare system has been established in the DPRK thanks to the love of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu for the younger generation and future and renewed their resolution to exert all efforts for the nursing and upbringing of children and healthcare for them. The participants enjoyed an art performance given by kindergarteners and looked round photos showing successes made in healthcare in the DPRK and cooperation activities of missions of international organizations here and drawings done by children. Then they played a sports game. |
