S. Korean People's Anti-"Government" Struggle Introduced by British Organization

Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy on May 7 posted on its website the news that the south Korean people are waging a vigorous struggle against the "government" in all parts of south Korea. The website said that more than 50,000 workers and above 200 bereaved family members of the ferry Sewol disaster had a mass rally and a demonstration under the sponsorship of the Confederation of Trade Unions in Seoul on May Day. The website went on: Over 120,000 workers belonging to the Federation of Trade Unions held a meeting denouncing the puppet authorities for their retrogressive restructuring of the labor market in Seoul and members of the Government Employees' Union waged a stay-in strike in protest against the Park Geun Hye regime's retrogressive revision of pension for government employees on the same day. The April 24 general strike of the Confederation of Trade Unions was staged on April 24 and 25 in 17 areas including Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju, Taejon, Taegu, Ulsan and on Jeju Island all at once in order to win the democratic rights and the vital rights in protest against the unpopular rule of the authorities. An anti-"government" struggle for defending the right to existence was launched by more than 100,000 people including government employees, teachers, workers, farmers, the poor, youths, women and disabled persons of above 350 civic and public organizations. |
