Kerry's Hectic Diplomacy Would Get U.S. Nowhere: KCNA Commentary
|
|
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of State Kerry, at a joint press conference in the wake of his junket to Beijing, talked rubbish that the DPRK's nuclear and missile development programs pose threat to regional peace and it will stand ever more isolated economically unless it drops its ambition for developing nuclear weapons. What Kerry said is no more than sheer sophism let loose by aggressors taken aback by the ever-increasing military muscle of the DPRK. As already reported, the DPRK has recently succeeded in test-fire of SLBM, a shining product of its Songun (army-first) line and line of simultaneously developing the two fronts. The successful test-fire of SLBM was part of the measures being taken by the service personnel and people of the DPRK to bolster up its capability for self-defence and marked a fresh higher stage in the development of strategic strike means. Its acquisition of the SLBM launch technology helped the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK have access to a world-level strategic weapon and made it possible for them to successfully conduct underwater operations to wipe out the hostile forces keen to encroach upon its sovereignty and dignity in any waters. It is quite natural for all the undesirable forces to raise a hue and cry over the above-said successful test-fire, not an easy project even for big powers. Notably, Washington must feel very uneasy due to heavy mental stress. It is not in a position to complain about the measure for self-defence taken by the DPRK. The U.S. has resorted to undisguised nuclear blackmail against the DPRK. It ceaselessly staged nuclear war drills aimed at "eliminating the leadership of the DPRK" and "occupying Pyongyang" after bringing nuclear carrier and group of warships to the South Sea of Korea and the Pacific. Power-backed high-handed and arbitrary practices have prevailed in the international arena and the U.S. has persistently encroached upon the sovereignty of other countries for decades. Had the DPRK not taken the road of bolstering up its capability for self-defence with the nuclear deterrent as its pivot under such grave situation, it would not have protected the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation nor would it have been possible to think about the building of an economic power. The on-going situation goes to clearly prove what a just option the DPRK took. No matter what confab the U.S. may stage here and there against the DPRK, seized with an anachronistic wild ambition, its unfavorable position can never improve. The DPRK will as ever bolster up its capability for self-defence with the nuclear force as its pivot, holding higher the banner of simultaneously developing the two fronts, undeterred by the U.S. smear campaign. With no gimmick can the U.S. realize its wild ambition for encroaching up the sovereignty of the DPRK and bringing down its dignified social system. It would be well advised not to misjudge its rival. |
