On display at the exhibition hall are photos documenting the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who made great contributions to the formation and development of Chongryon and those of Marshal Kim Jong Un who has wisely guided the movement of Koreans in Japan in the new century of Juche.

Also on show were photos showing the 60 year-long history of Chongryon and the efforts made by its officials and other Koreans in Japan to usher in its new heyday.

An opening ceremony took place at the People's Palace of Culture on May 23.

Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, Kim Jin Guk, director of the Agency of Overseas Korean Affairs, officials of ministries and national institutions and Pyongyangites.

Also present there were members of a group of Koreans in Japan for expressing thanks to the homeland on the 60th anniversary of Chongryon led by Pae Ik Ju, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, a delegation of Chongryon veteran officials led by Pak Jong Sang, adviser to the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artists in Japan, and other Koreans in Japan.

Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin made an opening address.
