They marched toward Panmunjom, holding placards bearing the letters "Let's build independent, peaceful, friendly new world!" and "Let's strengthen solidarity with world peace-loving forces!"

People of all social standings saw off the participants in the march in streets of Kaesong, waving flowers and hands.

At Panmunjom the members of the delegation to the grand march went round the monument on which President Kim Il Sung's signature reflective of his noble desire and noble life is inscribed and the hall where the armistice agreement was signed.

They held a press conference before crossing over the Military Demarcation Line.

On Saturday they visited the Koryo Museum and the Mausoleum of King Wang Kon.
