The editorial recalled that the Ministry of Defense announced that there would be talks between the defense ministers of Japan and south Korea on the sidelines of the 14th Asia Security Conference expected to take place between coming May 29 and 31 and the plan to hold talks with the U.S. is in the process of final coordination.

It noted that the Ministry of Defense said that a proposal for cooperation in the action to cope with "nuclear and missile threats from the north" and a plan for cooperation in the field of national defense would be discussed at the talks.

These talks will provide chances for boosting the system of military cooperation among the U.S., Japan and south Korea, it held, and continued:

South Korea is being dragged into the cooperation system to be led by the U.S. and Japan.
