Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria who is chairman of the Nigeria-DPRK Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

It decided to widely introduce through media the exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and achievements made by the Korean people in defending the sovereignty and building a thriving socialist nation under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un and to arrange meetings and film shows and other colorful political and cultural events on the occasion of the anniversaries.
