Ho Jong Man in a report at the meeting said that the 60th anniversary of Chongryon, a precious patriotic legacy of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and a dignified overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK is a significant event unprecedented in the history of world overseas compatriots' movement and a great auspicious event of Koreans in Japan.

Noting that Marshal Kim Jong Un sent to Chongryon and Koreans in Japan his letter "Let Us Usher In a New Heyday of the Movement of Koreans in Japan True to the Intention of the Great Comrade Kim Jong Il" on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Chongryon, the reporter said:

The letter is a great programme for the movement of Koreans in Japan in the glorious era of Kim Jong Un and highly important guidelines leading Chongryon to a new heyday for the happiness of the compatriots and rosy future of the rising generation.

The reporter noted that for the past 60 years Chongryon has vigorously conducted its patriotic activities for the homeland and the nation with loyalty to the leadership of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, overcoming unparalleled trials and difficulties.

Its precious achievements are a result of ardent patriotism and loyalty displayed by the officials of Chongryon, including the first generation, part-time activists, businessmen, Korean women and youths in Japan, he added.

The reporter stressed that with its 60th birthday as an occasion Chongryon should bring a new turn in the movement of Koreans in Japan as required by the glorious era of Kim Jong Un, in hearty response to his letter.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
