When giving field guidance to the construction site of the station in April this year, supreme leader Kim Jong Un called on youth builders to complete the construction of Power Stations Nos. 1 and 2 without fail before the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In this regard, Ri Hang Jun, vice-chairman of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, told KCNA:

The project is difficult yet vast but there are nothing insurmountable for youth builders who have turned out in the struggle in hearty response to his call. They are ensuring an ever high rate in the construction, creating the Korean speed.
