British Organizations Celebrate 60th Anniversary of Chongryon

Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association UK issued a joint statement on May 25 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the formation of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Chongryon formed on May 25, 1955 is a patriotic organization that protects the national rights of the Koreans in Japan as a prestigious overseas compatriots' organization of the DPRK, the statement said, and went on:

President Kim Il Sung saw to it that Chongryon was formed and gave precious instructions for its development.

Leader Kim Jong Il, reliable successor to the President's cause, provided guidelines to develop the movement of the Koreans in Japan.

Marshal Kim Jong Un is indicating the way of the movement of Koreans in Japan at a time when the revolutionary cause of Juche is at the historic turning point.
