Ali Houdou, president of the Socialist Party of Benin, said HE Kim Jong Il made great contributions to the cause of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, adding thanks to his patriotic bold decision a north-south summit was held and the June 15 joint declaration was adopted.

The eye-opening events that took place on the Korean peninsula in the wake of the publication of the declaration eloquently proved that the reunification of Korea is quite possible, he said, introducing the events in the June 15 era of reunification.

The vice-president of the party said Kim Jong Il formulated the Songun politics as the main political mode under socialism and developed the Workers' Party of Korea into a political body guiding the Songun revolution.

He also trained the service personnel and people to be the ones strong in mental power, thus enabling them to bring about epoch-making changes and miracles in the drive for building a thriving country, the vice-president noted.
