The article recalled that the Committees of the North, South and Overseas Sides for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration agreed to hold a national joint event marking the 15th anniversary of its publication in Seoul and open the event for observing 70th anniversary of the liberation of the country in Pyongyang.

Park is expected to be absent at the event slated to take place on June 15 under the pretence of the south Korea-U.S. summit.

Her plan to discuss the issue of tightening the alliance and triangular cooperation with the U.S. and Japan by making a trip to the U.S. on the day marking the 15th anniversary of the declaration is a blatant challenge and mockery of the declaration.
