Kim Jong Un in his message extended warm congratulations and salute to the Russian president and, through him, to the people of the Russian Federation on its national day.

Kim Jong Un noted in his message that Russia has achieved great successes and progress in all fields including socio-political life, economy and national defence, firmly protecting the dignity and interests of the country under the leadership of the president.

Noting with pleasure that the DPRK-Russia friendly relations with a long history and tradition have successfully developed in the spirit of the joint documents adopted at the top-level talks in the new century, Kim Jong Un expressed conviction that the bilateral relations would develop on a higher stage this year, the year of friendship.

He wished the Russian president good health and big success in his responsible work for the wellbeing of the Russian people.
