Sci-Tech Achievements for Coal Production Made in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- The State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has made a lot of sci-tech achievements helpful to coal output. The Sunchon Area Anthracite-mining Engineering Institute of the Coal Science Branch enhanced the gear efficiency of inertia-type loader and conveying equipment, raising the coal mining rate more 20 to 30 percent than before. The Research Institute of Mining Machinery and the Coal-mining Engineering Institute of the Coal Science Branch developed new high-performance puncher, crosscut saw and other machines needed for drilling work. And they invented a new manual mortar filling machine and a device for controlling speed of electric car. The Central Mining Research Institute helped lengthen the serviceable life of tub wheel bearing and establish an air-tight tub wheel production process at coal mines. The Geological Institute developed a precision CT prospecting apparatus. The Environmental Engineering Institute succeeded in modeling the whole tunnels of coal mine to ensure the scientific accuracy of mining process design. Manufactory No. 111 developed a three-phase electric monitor device and established an image and voice communication system. |
