Noting that the June 15 joint declaration is a great programme for independent and peaceful reunification of Korea that affirmed the Korean people's will to reunify the country by their own efforts in the idea of By Our Nation Itself free from foreign interference, the statement went on:

It is the way for reunifying Korea independently and peacefully to implement the declaration in the interests of the Korean nation.

However, the declaration has not been brought to fruition for 15 years since its publication due to the obstructions of the outsiders undesirous of Korea's reunification and anti-reunification forces in south Korea.

We once again extend support and solidarity to the government and people of the DPRK in their efforts for achieving the country's reunification independently and peacefully in the spirit of the joint declaration and demand all the anti-reunification forces honor and thoroughly implement the declaration.
