Present there were Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Yang Gon, Ro Tu Chol, and officials concerned and those of public organizations, members of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the North Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification, Pyongyangites, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and overseas Koreans staying in the homeland.

Yang Hyong Sop, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, made a report.

He said that the historic Pyongyang summit and the publication of the June 15 joint declaration were the brilliant fruition of leader Kim Jong Il's outstanding Songun politics and noble will for reunification and the great feats of national historic significance to shine in the way of carving out the destiny of the nation and achieving national reunification.

The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration comprehensively clarifies all the principled matters for national reunification ranging from the basic idea, stand and way for national reunification to the realistic matters arising in the efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself.

Kim Jong Il provided all Koreans with a landmark for national reunification in the new century and wisely led the drive for implementing the June 15 joint declaration with his energetic leadership.

In order to more powerfully promote the drive for implementing the June 15 joint declaration he provided the historic north-south summit in Pyongyang again in October 2007 and performed feats to go down in the history of the nation by giving the Koreans the "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity", programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

Through the adoption of the October 4 declaration he laid a strong foundation for fully implementing the June 15 joint declaration and opened epochal prospect for substantially achieving the development of the inter-Korean relations and peace and prosperity through the north-south premier talks and inter-sector talks.

Thanks to his distinguished and tested leadership the Korean nation could vigorously advance along the way of independent reunification under the banner of the north-south joint declaration despite vicious moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad for confrontation and war.

The noble exploits performed by him in the history of the movement for national reunification are firmly preserved and successfully carried forward by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The reporter called on all Koreans at home and abroad to launch a more dynamic nationwide struggle for implementing the north-south joint declarations this year marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Korea through great national unity under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Un and thus fully implement the behests of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for national reunification and make this year a year of great turn in paving a wide avenue to independent reunification.
