Ristiyanto, general secretary of the National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia, said:

The June 15 joint declaration is the most just programme for reunification and a milestone that makes it possible for the Korean nation to achieve the reunification of the country, its long-cherished desire, by its own efforts in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

Thanks to the adoption of the declaration, the Korean nation dynamically advanced along the road of reconciliation, cooperation and reunification with fresh hope and confidence in national reunification.

However, the north-south relations have deteriorated to an extreme phase and a stumbling block has lain in the way for implementing the joint declaration since pro-U.S. conservative forces took power in south Korea.

We vehemently denounce in the name of the world peace- and justice-loving progressive people the south Korean regime's moves to escalate confrontation with the compatriots in the north and ignite a war against it.

Saber Ballul, department head of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus, said the world progressive people are convinced that the friendly Korean people would resolutely foil the anti-reunification moves of the U.S. and the south Korean regime and reunify the country without fail.
