The statement expressed full support to an appeal of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea to conduct a dynamic international solidarity movement in support of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

From June to October this year mark the period of solidarity with the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

June 15 marks the 15th anniversary of the publication of the north-south joint declaration and October will observe the 35th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

President Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal for founding the DFRK 35 years ago.

Leader Kim Jong Il provided the north-south summit in Pyongyang in June, 2000, the first of its kind in history and made sure that a joint declaration was adopted.

We have fully supported the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the milestone of Korea's reunification.

Regretfully, the U.S. and its followers have persistently disregarded the DPRK's consistent efforts to achieve the country's reunification in a peaceful way through the great unity of the Korean nation free from foreign interference.

All this is the moves to spark a large-scale international dispute which may ignite a nuclear war.

We extend full support to the DPRK's efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations.
