South Korean Authorities' Attempt to Compromise with Japan over Sexual Slavery under Fire
|
|
Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hangyore on June 14 carried an editorial accusing the authorities of attempting to comprise with Japan over the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. The present chief executive hinted at this, talking about "considerable progress" when interviewed by the Washington Post on June 11, the paper noted, and went on: Her remarks drew attention as they were made under the pressure of the U.S. for improving relations with Japan. The victims of the sexual slavery die one after another and the above-said issue should be resolved when they are alive. What is important in the settlement of the above-said issue is for the Japanese government to admit its responsibility. The "government" should bear in mind that seeking a political compromise in disregard of this principle is little short of reneging on its original objective. |
