Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- A Taekwon-Do delegation, involving the vice-president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), the chairman of the European Taekwon-Do Federation and other renowned personages, visited Pyongyang to attend a memorial service for Choe Hong Hui, ex-president of the ITF on his 13th death anniversary. The delegation was touched by the fact that Taekwon-Do has been widely disseminated in the DPRK, its cradle, under the deep care of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government. Referring to the memorial service, Leong Wai Meng, vice-president of the ITF, told KCNA that the service was very emotional for his colleagues and he could see many of his colleagues fighting back their tears. Their stay here is for recharging their battery and to remind them of Choe Hong Hui's teachings and ideals and also the goal of Taekwon-Do, the vice-president said. Saying that the newly-built Taekwon-Do Holy Center in Pyongyang is a wonderful edifice, he said: We are very thankful to the DPRK government and especially your great leaders, and your dear leader now for having put so much attention and so much contribution towards our development. On behalf of all my colleagues, we thank your country's leaders and also your government for all the help you have given and for your attention. |
