The statement said:

It is the unanimous long-cherished desire of all Koreans to reunify the divided country independently and peacefully.

But the desire has not yet come true, 70 years since Korea's division, inflicting untold misfortunes and pain on the Korean people.

This is attributable to the U.S. forces present in south Korea, the policies of the successive U.S. administrations seeking Korea's division and the behavior of the south Korean authorities kowtowing to them.

We extend firm solidarity to the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people in their efforts for protecting the sovereignty of the country and reunifying the country.
