The Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany said in an article that leader Kim Jong Il provided the north-south summit, the first of its kind in the history of the national division in June, 2000 and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration reflecting the ideal of By Our Nation Itself was adopted, thus ushering in the June 15 era of reunification in which the north and the south head for reconciliation, unity and reunification.

The Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK said in an article titled "By Our Nation Itself":

It is fifteen years since the adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration but the idea of By Our Nation Itself, the basic spirit of the declaration, serves as an invariable banner for Korea's reunification.

This is because the idea of By Our Nation Itself is run through with the transparent spirit of independence.

The issue of Korea's reunification should be settled by the efforts of the Korean nation in conformity with the will and requirements of the Korean nation.

The article stressed that the way of preserving and embodying the idea of By Our Nation Itself guarantees the reunification and prosperity of the Korean nation and peace and stability in Asia and the rest of the world.
