S. Korean Regime Accused of Escalating Confrontation with North

Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- South Korean puppet Foreign Minister Yun Pyong Se, when recently meeting a U.S. deputy secretary of State, cried out for tightening cooperation with the U.S. in order to "cope with provocation and threat" from the north, pulling up it over its nukes. There he trumpeted about the need to "ratchet up pressure upon the north" to bring about "substantial progress in its denuclearization."

The south Korean puppet war maniacs under the signboard of the "month for protecting the country" staged large-scale joint firing drills and conducted joint rehearsals even with policemen, reserve forces and public officers involved.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says:

This is an unpardonable provocative act of chilling the desire of all Koreans for detente on the Korean peninsula and improving the north-south relations, total denial and a blatant challenge to the idea of By Our Nation Itself, the main spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

It is no more than hypocrisy and jargon for the south Korean regime to talk about "dialogue" while ratcheting up pressure and sanctions against the compatriots in the north in league with foreign aggressors.

Dialogue and confrontation, process to mend the relations and war drills can never go together.

Trust-based dialogue and improved relations between the north and the south can never take place as long as the south Korean ruling forces persist in political and military confrontation with the backing of outsiders as now,

The south Korean authorities would be well advised to behave with reason, properly understanding what the fellow countrymen desire and what the times require.
