June 15 North-South Joint Declaration Supported by Guinean Personage

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- Banou Keita, chairman of the Guinea-Korea Friendship Association, released a statement on June 13 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the publication of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. He said that leader Kim Jong Il made sure that the north-south summit was provided in Pyongyang in June, 2000, the first of its kind in the history of Korea's division, and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration was adopted and published there. The joint declaration is the great programme for reunification common to the Korean nation which was agreed upon at the north-south summit of Korea and welcomed at the international arena, he said, and went on: But the U.S. is displeased with it. The Lee Myung Bak group totally denied the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, obstructed the undertakings for cooperation between the north and the south and ceaselessly perpetrated military provocations. The north-south relations are facing a bigger obstacle due to the present south Korean authorities. But invariable are the will and stand of the Korean people to carry out the joint declarations to the letter under the leadership of respected HE Kim Jong Un. |
