The Iranian paper Iran News on June 16 in an article titled "Leader Kim Jong Il's exploits for national reunification" said that he dedicated his all to the reunification of Korea.

The Syrian paper Al Baath on June 14 carried an article titled "On the day when a landmark was provided for the reunification of Korea divided by foreign forces."

The article noted that the idea of By Our Nation Itself serves as the most just and aboveboard idea which makes it possible to rejoin the severed blood ties of the nation and guidelines indicating the road of putting an end to the outsiders' occupation and achieving independent development under the present situation on the Korean peninsula.

Referring to the achievements made in the drive for reconciliation, cooperation and reunification between the north and the south after the publication of the joint declaration, the article stressed that Korea would be surely reunified in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

The Canadian paper TML Weekly on June 13 said that the Korean people would make positive efforts to achieve the reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration despite all challenges.
