Present there were Kim Hyong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health, Kim Song Hui, president of the Korean Family Planning and Maternal and Child Health Association (KFP&MCHA), officials concerned and members of a delegation of the International Planned Parenthood Federation led by Director-general Tewodros Melesse, a mission of international body here and a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK.

The speakers at the symposium referred to the problems arising in the work to improve the reproductive health of the people and the importance of information and other services.

They swapped the successes and experience gained in the past and expressed hope for boosting cooperation and solidarity in the work to promote reproductive health.

Speeches were made under the titles "On reproductive health in the DPRK" and "Aging of population and reproductive health".

The participants enjoyed an art performance given by Korean schoolchildren and looked round photos showing the advantageous health care system under socialism and activities of KFP&MCHA.
