Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of the Royal Palace, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to the immortal exploits performed by the President and his sacred revolutionary career and great feats performed by him in the development of the friendly relations between the two countries and hold political and cultural events in the period between June 18 and July 17.
