The Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea said that leader Kim Jong Il provided the Pyongyang summit and made sure that the joint declaration was adopted there, a historic event which brought about an epochal turn in achieving the cause of national reunification.

It noted that he made sure that the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, was adopted, opening up a bright prospect for improving the inter-Korean relations and reunifying Korea.

The shortcut to putting an end to the confrontation between the north and the south of Korea at an early date and heading for harmony and reunification is to implement the June 15 joint declaration the validity and vitality of which were clearly proved in practice, it added.

The Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association extended full support to the Korean people in their efforts for reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south and the peaceful reunification of Korea.

The association is strongly opposed to the moves of the imperialists to break the will of the Korean people for the peaceful reunification of the country, it noted.
