The secretary of a region of the African National Congress of South Africa was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee set the celebration period from June 18 to October 15 and decided to widely introduce the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and successes being achieved by the Korean people in building a thriving socialist nation under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un and organize a meeting, seminar, film show and other political and cultural events.
