A stadium and gymnasiums were built in Tokchon City, while sports facilities taking their shapes in Kaechon City and Maengsan, Mundok, Pukchang, Hoechang, Sinyang and Yangdok counties. And the construction of gymnasiums and swimming pools has been finished in many units like South Phyongan Provincial Information and Communication Center, the Power Distribution Station, Phyongsong University of Medicine and Kim Jong Suk Secondary School No. 1.

The province completed an indoor stadium and lodging quarters for sportspersons near Phyongsong Stadium and is pushing ahead with the remodeling of a gym for the Chongchongang Sports Team.

Meanwhile, a fashionable indoor stadium is now under construction at the Sunchon Thermal Power Plant.
