The statement stressed that the joint declaration gained positive support from the world peace-loving people wishing for the reunification of Korea.

Fully supporting the joint declaration and calling for a thorough implementation of the declaration, the statement said:

To our regret, the U.S. and the south Korean regime following it lay a stumbling block in implementing the declaration by employing all trite tricks.

The south Korean regime conducts joint military drills with the U.S. against the DPRK, far from holding substantial negotiations for reunification.

Reaffirming the support to the joint declaration, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization demands the south Korean authorities take steps for holding genuine north-south negotiations in the spirit of the declaration.
