The Syrian paper Al Baath in an article titled "Ever-victorious WPK and Kim Jong Il" said he was the eternal general secretary of the WPK who made sure the party consistently adhered to the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as its reliable guiding idea.

Al Nour of Syria carried the similar article.

Novo Rabotnichesko Delo of Bulgaria carried an article titled "June 19 is a significant day in the DPRK".

The article said that Kim Jong Il enriched the Juche idea through his extraordinary ideological and theoretical activities. It went on: He pursued the Songun politics to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and nation and turned the DPRK into an impregnable fortress.

He made devoted efforts to reunify the country divided by foreign forces.

Guinean domestic, international and seven national language radios broadcasted an article titled "Eternal general secretary of the WPK" which said it was impossible to think about the victorious and glorious history of the WPK without his exploits.
