The general secretary wished the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Korean people bigger successes in their struggle for accomplishing the cause of building and defending the country under the guidance of First Secretary Kim Jong Un. He went on:

We pay deep attention to the fact that the Korean people have registered great successes in their struggle for achieving economic development, improving the people's living standard and defending the country's sovereignty under the leadership of the WPK headed by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, first secretary, in recent years.

The party and people of Vietnam always remember the precious support and encouragement the party and people of the DPRK sent to the Vietnamese people in their struggle against the U.S. and for saving the nation and accomplishing the cause of nation-building.

The friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties, two states and two peoples have grown stronger thanks to the foundation and tradition of the friendly relations provided by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung.

The party, the government and people of Vietnam will attach utmost importance to the traditional, friendly and cooperative relations with the party, government and people of the DPRK and further strengthen them in conformity with the requirement of the new times.
