The basic spirit that runs through the June 15 joint declaration adopted in Pyongyang in June, 2000 is By Our Nation Itself. It calls on the north and the south to reunify the country by the concerted efforts of all Koreans free from foreign interference.

The October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the joint declaration, was published in 2007, instilling once again the confidence in reunification into all Koreans.

The June 15 era of reunification, a landmark event in the north-south relations, is a valuable fruition of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration which affirmed that the north and the south would achieve the reunification of the country and prosperity common to the nation with the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.

The Venezuelan paper Vea in an article titled "For reunification of country" on June 23 dealt with the exploits the peerlessly great men performed by dedicating themselves to national reunification.
