Rodong Sinmun Friday editorially calls for greeting the elections with high political enthusiasm and labor feats with the honor and pride of being citizens of the dignified and powerful DPRK.

The paper goes on:

To do so is a worthwhile work to fully demonstrate the might of single-minded unity in the DPRK.

It is thanks to the single-minded unity that the Korean revolution has made a steady advance despite the worst hardships and trials in history and the DPRK government has successfully performed its function and role as a political weapon for building a thriving nation despite the vicious moves of the enemies.

The elections of the deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly and local people's assemblies held so far clearly proved that no force on earth can bring down the DPRK government which has broad popular masses as its powerful political foundation.

Each time an election takes place in the country, the enemies get frantic with all sorts of smear campaign and mud-slinging. This is aimed to shake the trust of the people in the government and destabilize the socialist system of Korean style.

The Korean people will never step back from the path of socialism chosen by themselves, taken in by the sophism of the reactionaries of history.

The DPRK government will as ever remain strong and demonstrate its dignity as an impregnable fortress as it has the servicepersons and people who consider socialism as their life and soul and are firmly determined to share the same destiny with socialism, no matter how difficult and arduous the way before them may be.

The paper underscores the need to put once again spurs to the drive for implementing the behests of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and upholding the party policies with the elections as a watershed and thus dash ahead like the wind towards a grand festival in October.
