Present there on invitation were members of the delegation headed by Minister of Defence Sengnouane Sayalat, secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Phonekham Inthaboualy, Lao ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy officials.

Present there were Army General of the Korean People's Army Pak Yong Sik, minister of the People's Armed Forces, and other generals and officers of the KPA.

Pak Yong Sik in a speech said that the visit marked a significant occasion in boosting the long-standing friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the armies and peoples of the two countries associated with devoted efforts of the preceding leaders.

We will consolidate and boost ties and cooperation with the fraternal Lao army, true to respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un who is paying deep attention to the development of bilateral friendly relations, he noted.

Sengnouane Sayalat in a speech referred to the fact that armed forces organs of Laos and the DPRK discussed the cooperative relations between the armies of the two countries in a friendly and candid atmosphere and reached a consensus, thus contributing to the ceaseless development of friendly relations.

The visit of the high-ranking military delegation will contribute to boosting generation after generation the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the armies of the two countries provided by the great leader of the Korean people President Kim Il Sung and the respected leader of the Lao people Comrade Kaysone Phomvihane, he added.
