Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Wrecker of Peace in Europe

Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Carter, when visiting European countries some days ago, opened to public the U.S. plan to deploy heavy weapons including tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces in those countries which belonged to the former Soviet Union and other East European countries. And he said the U.S. would render all kinds of aids to the European countries so that they may stand against Russia.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this is little short of openly revealing the U.S. intention to concentrically increase and deploy armed forces near the border of Russia in a bid to hold military edge and contain it by force of arms. The news analyst goes on:

Russia and the U.S. are going over to practical military actions which may lead to physical conflict at any time.

Such grave situation in Europe is attributable to the U.S. strategy against Russia.

The strategy is aimed at retaining military domination over Central Asia and Mid-east and drawing the East European countries into NATO in a bid to lay a military siege to Russia.

If the confrontation structure between Russia and the U.S. is getting more serious and a physical conflict occurs, the whole of Europe may be engulfed in a war and it may go over to a world war.

World war should never be repeated as it will bring monstrous disasters to mankind. This is the unanimous desire of the world peace-loving progressive people.
